REVIEW:  My Life for Her by Robert J Saniscalchi is the sequel to Bullets and Bandages previously reviewed by Mind Fog Reviews. My Life for Her satisfies and answers what happens to Doc and Tex after Vietnam.
When Doc’s wife gets kidnapped, Doc calls Tex to help find her. That’s when the action unfolds and keeps you on the edge of your seat! Mr. Saniscalchi has a way with writing that makes you feel like you are there. I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends who love action and adventure all told in this novel of thrilling and adventurous styling.

My Life, For Her – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat and Think With Your
Taste Buds – Desserts
‘Rob called Roy, “Beth Anne is missing! She left the Hospital to meet us at
the game and never showed. Where the hell could she be at this hour?”
“Calm down Rob,” Roy replied, “I’m sure there must be a reasonable
explanation for all this worry. She must have broken down on some back
road.”
Rob walked over to his car. “Roy, I don’t know where the hell she is! It’s
not like her at all, missed the game and no calls. Did she just disappear or
decide to leave us? I don’t understand why she would do that. It just
doesn’t make any sense.”
They walked around checking for her car. It wasn’t long before they found
it. Rob opened the door with his set of keys, the engine started with no
problem. Why was it still in the parking lot – it didn’t make sense. The
panic grew inside him; his hands were trembling as they checked around the
whole hospital perimeter. It was getting late and they still found no sign at
all of Beth Anne.’
Rob Marrino is a happily married man with a wonderful wife, Beth Anne,
and two beautiful children. After serving as a field medic in Viet Nam, and
with the encouragement of Beth Anne’s uncle Roy, Rob joined the police
force in their home town of Pikeville. Pikeville was the perfect place to live, raise a family and serve on the
police force. It was small, quiet and virtually crime free. Then all hell broke out when Rob was cruising in his
restored Mustang and was passed by a vehicle being chased by the a state trooper. As Rob joined in the chase and
knew things were kicking up a notch when he saw the gun being fired out the window at the trooper’s car.
What turned out to be one of the biggest drug busts in the small town’s history also turned out to be one of the
biggest nightmares in Rob’s history. What he would end up facing was far worse than anything he had ever faced
while serving in Nam. Why? Because it was happening to his own family, mainly Beth Anne.
In My Life, For Her, Rob, along with his best friend Tex, is taken back into the jungles to defend what is his. The
two attempt to accomplish a feat that the government had failed in doing. This becomes a time that all of their
Viet Nam training kick back in with hopes that they will escape with their lives as well as the lives of others. My
Life, For Her was a book that kept me turning the pages and cheering for a miracle.

Thrill Ride Through a nightmare! April 27, 2010
By W. H. McDonald “The American Authors Association
This review is from: My Life, For Her (Paperback)"Robert J Saniscalchi’s newest book “My Life, For Her” is an action packed and emotionally loaded weapon that will explode into the reader’s mind and heart. It  starts slowly and then becomes a never-ending thrill ride that takes the reader to places within their own psyche that is as uncomfortable as a real life nightmare! No one ever wants to see his or her family in danger. This is truly on of those moving stories where you become the hero in your own mind as you follow along from page to page waiting for our veteran/cop hero to terminate the bad guys and rescue his family.
The book is all that you could ask for in any adventure tale, it is exciting, suspenseful, an above all—moving. This is a story that comes at you like a bullet with your name on it! A book you will not soon forget!"
Review My Life, For Her
"Life changes. Unpredictable, not in our control, life can throw you a curve ball more powerful and faster than one thrown by the best pitcher on a major league team. Speed, accuracy and precision are necessary when that pitch leaves the glove and heads for the opponent’s bat. But, as that batter hopes to hit a home run, a gale wind sends it in another direction causing him to strike out. As Rob Marrrino heads out in his mustang with no direction in mind, that curve ball sends him in a completely different direction. Wanting to spend time pondering and thinking about his past and what the future holds for him was what he hoped to do that day.  But, sometimes what you want is not what you get. One moment in time will forever change his life. The course of events no one will ever forget.

A black sports sedan zooming past the state police cause Rob to enter a high-speed chase and the end result will shock the small town of Pikeville and stupefy the police department and put them on the map. Calling it in and becoming involved in this chase, Rob learns that the two men are drug dealers and winds up killing the brother of the number one South American kingpin of a huge drug cartel. This would create a chain of deadly events. One brother is jailed and he vows to avenge his brother’s death. Rob and his family become his targets since his was the fatal bullet.

Beth Ann, Rob’s wife was supposed to be at their son’s game, she never   arrives. Like a puff of smoke she is gone and not one cinder or ash is left. Where is she no one knows? Little to go on and hardly any trace evidence left, he turns to the FBI for help. Agent Traci Sanders, taken with Rob, assists him in his pursuit giving him the needed information to find her.

My Life For Her is Rob’s response when asked what needs to be done. How far would you go and what would you risk if your wife/husband were kidnapped and in danger? Hidden away and imprisoned, Beth Anne’s life is in jeopardy unless the drug dealer is freed. But, who bargains with terrorists? Rob, a former medic and Vietnam vet enlists the aide of his army pal Tex to bring down the cartel and find his wife. Would you risk it all?

Flying straight into the hands of the cartel both Rob and Tex enter the world of drugs, terrorism and hate in order to find one woman. My Life For Her is what Rob keeps saying as they go on a roller coaster ride with more ups and downs than the cyclone in Coney Island and more dangerous at each turn. With only five days to get her back and trade the drug dealer’s life for hers, Rob and Tex feverishly works along with others to save this one woman. Would you chance it and take your entire life savings to find your wife or husband?

Rocky trails, rough terrain, boat rides, hot desert conditions, nothing would stop Rob and Tex from their quest no matter what the cost or risk. As Rob and Tex find the camp where they are holding Beth what ensues you will not believe. You can feel the tension, fear and anger in both Rob and Tex as they race the clock to get Beth Anne back. Lives are lost, the drug cartel must be brought down and their headman called the General must pay for what he’s done to so many. Rape, torture, pilfering, stealing and drug trafficking are not even close to the crimes these people are guilty. Revenge is the reason for Beth Anne’s capture and as Agent Sanders waits to hear the fate of Tex and Rob, Tex continues the battle alone to finish what they both started.

Mexico has been the primary producer and transit route for illegal drug trafficking for generations. This country has always been embattled with powerful drug cartels whose funds are endless and whom ruthlessness knows no bounds. Drug related violence is not uncommon in this country along with guns smuggled into Mexico being used by drug gangs. As our author relates the events leading up to the capture of these men, seizure of the drugs and hopefully saving Rob, Tex and Beth Ann, the author reminds the reader of the serious ramifications of drug trafficking and the dangers involved when trying to stop them. Captured along with Beth Ann is another woman whose father is quite powerful and owns a lot of land the cartel is after. Saving her brought them to temporary safety endangering the family of this woman and many more.

As the team’s plan is executed you can feel the excitement, the tension and fears that each man experiences as the author relates to the reader the thoughts of each of the key players in this mission. For anyone that has never watched a military rescue in a movie, or read about how missions are executed and accomplished read this thriller and experience it along with the characters.

My Life For Her: Four small words with so much power and meaning. One man who risked his life to save another. Another mans whose undying friendship almost costs him his life and much more. Two close friends who fought in Vietnam and now are fighting for the lives of so many to stop the destruction caused by these drug cartels. Can anyone ever really stop them? Will more replace those that are captured or killed? What part does the government and the President play in this fast paced, action packed true to life thriller that will keep you on edge from start to finish? Allowing the reader into the minds of the characters and describing their feelings and actions so vividly you feel part of the action. Heart racing and thought provoking, author Robert J. Saniscalchi brings to light the importance of fighting to rid the world of drugs, the true meaning of friendship, and the meaning of real love. My Life For Her: Does he save her? Will they succeed? Will the drug lord’s bombs destroy the home of the people that are keeping them safe? Do they make it out or will it be too late? An ending that has twists, turns, surprises and will have you on edge until the very end, author Robert J. Saniscalchi is right up there with Patterson, Berry, Coben and many other writers of great thrillers. A great book to use as a reference to help young adults learn why taking drugs are dangerous and to what lengths these people will go market them in our country and how fatal the results can be."

Read this outstanding novel that teaches everyone what love is really about. MY LIFE FOR HER! You decide what that means. My LIFE FOR HIM: Would you give yours for the one you love?

Five Stars

Review by Carol Hoyer PhD

First let me say, if you haven’t read Bullets and Bandages by this same author you should. This is a terrific follow-up to Rob a Vietnam vet who spent time as a medic seeing all the horror of a war he wasn’t sure he wanted to be in an and now ten years latter is a cop in Pikeville, NJ. Married with two great kids, Rob can finally, not completely take the warrior and nightmares out of his life, but it is getting better.

Pikeville is a great town to live in and be a cop. No major crimes, no serial killers just the usual domestic violence, and questions from the locals. His wife’s uncle is the chief of the police department and knows that Rob likes to go “wild” in his favorite car sometimes. During this particular driving to nowhere, Rob hears police sirens and realizes that a high- speed chase is in progress and decides to join the pursuit. Little did he know that this case would start one of the worst nightmares he has ever encountered. The suspects have crashed their car and caution is being taken to ensure the officers are not harmed. However, the suspects felt the need to open fire and as a result one dead and one wounded. Pikeville police found themselves involved in drug smugglers from a large cartel and now the FBI have become involved.

Rob, ever vigilant has a feeling something bad is going to happen in his little town. His slight paranoia returns as he goes home to take a break from all the excitement. Expecting to see his wife before he goes to a little league game. Rob becomes concerned when she doesn’t call or show up at the game. The nightmare begins.

From the very first page to the last, readers will not be able to put this action packed book down. Readers will not want to miss a moment and when the action is over, let down will occur. Frankly, I hated for the book to end. I wanted more.

The author’s ability to put readers in the character’s minds is outstanding, one could feel the bullets zip past, the anger and concern when family members don’t come home. It is often hard for Vietnam vets to forget nightmares, smells and sound from the war, and when people you love are put in danger it all returns. The research, detail and knowledge of returning vets and police departments make this story more authentic.

My recommendation is that everyone read books by this author; he is a great supporter of all men and women who are serving or have served in the military.

Normal 0 Review My Life, For Her

On the Razor's Edge

Off-duty police officer Rob Marrino was cruising along in his 1969 Mustang when a hot, black car flashed by him on the road. The state police and Rob exchanged gunfire with the drug dealers and by the time it was over, one of the cartel was dead and the other taken into custody. Rob had the strangest feeling it wouldn’t be just a simple arrest and he was right.

Rob’s wife, Beth Anne, never saw her assailant as he grabbed her from behind in the hospital parking lot and pushed her into a waiting van. Thus began her nightmare of terror. When she was awake, her Colombian kidnappers bruised and abused her, taking liberties with her beautiful body while she prayed for a miracle. To free his wife, Marrino enlists the help of Tex, one of his friends from their “bullets and bandages” days in Vietnam. Not only is Tex a brilliant strategist, but he is absolutely deadly - whether or not he has a weapon in his hands. Together, they set out to free Beth Anne or die trying.

The Colombian jungle is a hot and steamy war zone, literally crawling with poisonous spiders and snakes, while death hovers nearby in the drug cartel’s rugged camp. The assault on the rebel base is a heart pounding lunge toward freedom. The reader can almost hear the staccato pop of gunfire ricocheting off the trees, feel the deep thrum of multiple explosions in his chest and taste bloody fear on his tongue as all of their lives tremble on the razor’s edge.

How can Rob and Tex extricate a terrified Beth Anne from her ruthless captors? It seems an almost impossible task. And yet, when things seem bleakest, an unexpected player may yet help them win the day. My Life, For Her gathers momentum like a huge locomotive, gathering speed with each page and thundering toward an explosive climax.
